Resolved Question: Need to vent – I am frustrated by some pet owners questions?
I am well aware that veterinary care for any pet can be expensive, but some of the questions posted here sometimes send me over the edge. I think that when people get a pet, they need to consider that pets are very expensive and if you can’t afford it please reconsider getting a pet.If you are already barely getting by, now is not the time to get a pet. I have ready many questions such as”
I think my dogs leg is broken but I can’t afford a vet, what can I do. Or, my cat has had rectal bleeding for 2 weeks now and I can’t afford a vet, what should I do.This is what I find so frustrating.
I would live on a crust of bread if I had to, but I will make sure my pets get medical care if they need it. Some of these questions are concerning serious medical conditions and require immediate medical care from a veterinarian. My concern here is for any animals that are suffering and in pain.
Please…if you have a pet that needs medical attention, get your priorities in order.And for those looking to bring a new pet into your home remember this is a long term commitment that you are making and comes with much responsibility. Think about it.

Sorry REVA M, but I disagree with your comment. If one is poor, they cannot afford a dog for protection, they still have to be fed and get medicall attention. Free advise her, if you need protection by a can of wasp spray for $ 5.00. Spray it in an intruders eyes and they will be temporarily blind until they seek medical treatment. The blindness is reversible. Oh, then the police can arrest them at the ER.
I think it is important that if we see
irresponsible pet owners asking these stupid questions, we need to reply with a simple
“you are an irresponsible pet owner – take your pet to a vet immediately”

I think we need to ban together here for the sake of all pets. Pet owner stupidity
cannot be tolerated.
